babble babble b*tch b*tch

the pro in this con

the upside to this questionably gainful employment, is the benefits. they are few and far between, but at least there are a few.

study leave. beautiful thing. i will get to stay home for a month and still get paid, while i study for and write my exams. i thought after varsity, the studying is over. HA. little did i know the qualifications and other crap keeps going on long into the working thing.

*excuse the digression*

another kewl benefit: overtime leave. i will take another month off because of the overtime i managed to collect since the beginning of the year. it is not worth the effort to take the munny instead of the off days. so, i have just under 2 months off for study leave. my exams start on the 11th of october. ends on the 23rd.

in this “profession” the munny is okay. so, im gonna take 1 week of my overtime leave and im gonna spend it with the love of my life. in the beautiful cape. its a 2 hour flight. and a 3,5 hour drive to the airport. funny that.

Yeah, I have to drive an hour and a half to PE on the bus in a westerly direction, just so that I can jump onto a plane and fly for an hour in an easterly direction to Durban.

Tis a silly world we live in.

hallo

Why isnt it worth it for u to take your overtime money instead of the leave?

We dont even have that option.all we get is leave days no money....

hey ruby,

the munny isnt worth it, coz its so little. i get roughly R200 a day [i took my monthly salary and divided by workdays] thats R25 an hour.

if you take the overtime, i have 127 hours of overtime ive worked this year. [dont ask -- it was horrible and im still trying to suppress the memory]

i would get something like R400 for those 127 hours. id rather take a month off, thanks.

thanks, poly. altho only 1 week of it will be actual holiday.

i know exactly what you mean, mike. it boggles my mind. im always driving in the opposite direction than where im going. and i always spend more time at going in the wrong direction.

strange old world, innit?

Leave pay, overtime etc etc. You are really lucky. And you are coming to the cape to see this great love. Life is good.

Do they care what you study?

Because that does sound pretty cool.

We should do that in the US!

(Ouch! Boss, quit sneaking behind me with that cattle prod!!)

hi, wendy,
im pretty much walking on air today. gonna c my lover tomorrow. i wouldve felt luckier if we lived in the same province, town, side of the country. but, right now, very little could bring me down.

mr wizard!
yes, they care what we study. we have to study further towards the chartered accountant qualification. so, altho we get all this study leave, when we get back and we passed, the company can increase our charge-out rate. which means more money for the company.

oh, and if i dont pass at the end of this year, they are gonna fire me. its a clause in my contract. gotta love the capitalists.

it happens.
