movie mania

arcadia made me do it!

top 5 movies i can quote entirely (from beginning to end)

[yes, i am a sad individual]

[based on frequency watched, i suppose]

1) Robin Hood – Men in Tights [brought to us by Mr. Mel Brooks]

[il put the pic in when blogger feels like cooperating again!]

“These aren’t MY bubbles! They’re from the pipes!”

2) William Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet [the one with Leo + Claire Danes in it]

“Do you bite your thumb at us, Sir?”

3) The Craft [Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Rachel True, Skeet Ulrich]

“Hail to the guardians of the watchtower of the North...”

4) Demon Knight [Billy Zane, Bill Sadler, Jada Pinkett Smith, Brenda Bakke, CCH Pounder]

“If it makes ya feel good, do it!”

5) From Dusk till Dawn

[Director: Robert Rodriguez
Main Cast: George Clooney, Harvey Keitel, Quentin Tarantino, Juliette Lewis, Cheech Marin]

“I didnt say do what I do, I said do what I say.”

Cool list.

Mine would have to be - again, in no particular order:

1) Fight Club: "Sticking feathers up your butt does not make you a chicken".

2) Boondock Saints: "People in glass houses sink ships"

3) Top Secret: "Ich liebe dich mein General!"

4) Igby Goes Down: "I am drowning in assholes"

5) The Lion King: "What do you want me to do? Dress in drag and do the Hula?"

You can quote five movies from beginning to end?

Does your dad ever let you drive the car to the end of the driveway??

"our generation has had no Great War, no Great Depression. Our war is spiritual, our depression is our lives"

Almost Famous
"adolescence is a marketing tool" &
"the only true currency in this bankrupt world of our is what you share with someone when you're uncool"

American Beauty
"and why does he dress like a bible salesman?"

Notting Hill
"tempting, but no."

Evita
"another suitcase in another hall

Is it bad that I've only seen one movie in your entire list? :s

hi debaser,
i love the movies in your list, but i havnt seen them enough times to quote them from beginning to end!

maybe a phrase here and there.

mr wizard,
admittedly, these are movies i saw millions of times when i was much younger. but, i have my own car now.

and, no, my dad would never let me drive any of his cars. or his bakkie [truck (?)]

hey arc,
i wish i could quote fight club from beginning to end. i LOVED the book and ive only seen the movie twice.

"there's only one rule in fight club..." :D

aw, mike,
it's okay. most of the movies in my list are at least 10 years old anyway. if i had to make a list of great quotable movies, it would look a lot different.

altho - mr tarantino's flicks would still be in there. ^_^

My God, I don't think I know one movie all the way through. Apart from Mel Brook's Silent Movie that is (it has one word IIRC).

I think the film I remember the most lines from is "the Big Sleep" with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall.

"How do like your brandy, soldier?"
"In a glass, sir."

One of my favorite lines from an oldie- Cool hand Luke;
"What we have here is a failure to communicate."

"Hail to the king baby"

- Army of Darkness. One of the greatest.

"You've got something on your face." (throws dirt on dismembered head in a shallow grave)
"See how that works?"

Also, Demon knight was so much fun.
"Actually sheriff it was kinda like a tune up and a lube job."
