Maybe it's a white lie, or a fib. Maybe they just witheld the full truth (purposefully or not). Does that really mean it's a lie?

It's not that they lied. The errors do lie in the bias & interpretation of the Good Books' words.
the Good Book was written by a bunch of guys and a lot of things have gone AWOL in translation..
small wonder we're all so worked up..
