Kung Fu Hustle

Happy Monday, folks!

Towards the end of last week, I bought an eyetoy for my ps2. With this eyetoy I am able to learn Kung Fu. So far, I have been in horrible pain for 3 days. The stances are killing my legs. It happens.

This decision was brought on by merging 2 of my new year’s resolutions/ dreams for myself; 1) Getting fitter and 2) learning a martial art. So far, my virtual personal trainer has been very supportive. And I’m enjoying the program. It is too early in the game to make any definite judgements about this way of getting fit, but time will tell.

Criticism:
The first problem I have with this program, is that I don’t think I’m getting enough cardio exercise. I don’t feel tired much when I do it. But, I did set it on Easy to start with. So, I suppose it will get more challenging in time.

The other rather huge problem I have, is that it is incredibly difficult to centre the eyetoy on me. The result being – I get horrific ratings for the routines I do, despite copying my virtual instructor perfectly. Maybe my room is too small. Or the light isn’t bright enough. Who knows? But, it is getting on my nerves.

On the plus side, the exercises are really targeting my problem areas. So, I should be a hottie again in no time flat. Additionally, the Yoga stances and Massage instruction modules are pretty kewl too. I’ve learned more than I bargained for.

Will I still be sticking to the program 2 weeks from now? Who knows? I have a competitive soul and usually prefer humans around me to compete with. So, all alone in my room, there is no telling how long I will remain motivated.

Yesterday, I kicked a dragon’s ass. How brilliant is that?

Yes, it did. I think it takes a lot of strength and dedication to be able to understand true love and to be able to let go. As the saying goes.

Wow, that sounds like a fab way to work out, maybe I should get one? I’m more into ps2 just for SingStar, but Kung Fu rocks! I actually practiced karate for 4 years, but dropped of aftert realizing I’d never become the Next Karate Kid due to lack of Mr Miyagi at Far Side ;)

Btw, have you seen the movie Kung Fu Hustle - totally dopey movie ;)

They say red dragon is very spicey, my adventurous friend.

Blue dragon is tough and inedible as is white dragon. Black and green dragon has to be pickled to help rid it of a certain foresty "swamp" flavor that is contained in the meat.

The metalic dragons taste like the finest venison. I've never dined on gold silver or bronze dragom, but a copper dragon once tricked me into eating brass dragon jerky.

It tasted like the Crown of Power feels--only with teriyaki.

...In game, of course!
These dorky facts are all I remember about a DnD manual called the Draconomicon. Great reading when I was sixteen! It's funny that I remember it all so well. Ridiculously so, I'm affraid...
------
You know? I think when it's really true love over long distances, that's what makes it harder on a person, just by its very nature: Love+lots of Geography= Lots of heartache. You will be OK! Use this love to motivate yourself, or think of the future: when you have let go of love, you will find it, perhaps before letting go, even. Just don't force the poetry, my friend. Let it breath and let yourself heal with the memeories, and not forget what it is that you love. Only tuck it away in favor of creating new memories. That's what I try to capture. And I need to create more, myself.

Thank you, too.

If you ever asked for a poem, it would be the challenge of a life time!

--
Oh my god,
the bridge past over-man (or over- woman)has held quick
to earthquakes
blood feud, genocide
and the test of a
german philosopher's own time and standard,
she arches against the force of
the trampling feet that cross her

But now,
Nietzche's shins are bloody and blue
they are chrome mirrors in the sunlight
shimmers ,like a laser beam splitting into razor prisms
highlighting his pain
even in the grave

He never knew what hit him!
when you walked past, like the postcarrier, you only knock him that one single time,
tossing diamond blades of wisdom
in four points
often
less than three words

Like oportunity,
knocking softly
on the outside glass
sometimes
not even
once

like god
in the book
of a dead teuton
who really seemed to hope
he was right about it in the end
she is dead--
she sometimes tells me this
and
She might be right,
against my hope
she exists so far away
in a land filled with bitter regret
and unspoken hope

I might only think I know better
than she who speaks in the loudest
shades of hush, like a silent prayer
is loudest to a living God's ears

There's a poem! You can have it, too. But I type a few of those here. I might need to punlish it later, but I''d have to re=write it a bit, I bet. It is a first draft, after all, like all the rest that I write both here and else where. You know that. I write like this when I feel comfortable around people. It's fun!

Good post! It made me think of a kung-fu battle of wits, for some reason! That's why I worte it!

thank you for the visit. ive always wanted to try/buy singstar. but, im waiting for the cost to come down. it's (600ZAR // $88) per game right now.

i have seen Kung Fu Hustle. I thought it was funny in a lame over-done sort of way.

wax on -- wax off

[something entirely besides the point -- did you know that we are the only generation which understands the profound meaning of wax on -- wax off? kids today are clueless.

ever talk to a teen/pre-teen lately? you say super mario bros., they What??]

boggles my mind.

mr. eric!

i was too shy to ask for my very own poem, but thank you. sincerely, you honour me.

and thank you for the tips on dragon cuisine. i will have to keep this in mind the next time i have a dinner party...

I think its awesome that you excercise while playing ps2. Maybe I should try it.

Sorry about your exam, its difficult when you study your ass off and you still don't pass.

As far as your concerns about your career/life, I have this advice/comments:

Life is a journey and what you make of it!!!!
Life is about choices, but remember EVERY action has a re-action! and by not making a choice---that is a choice to.
I recon no matter what you do or where you work, there will always be days, people, circumstances that you just absolutely dislike. BUT its HOW you handle it that makes it worth while.
Laugh, laugh, laugh, laugh!!!!!! and when you can laugh at yourself its even better.
I don't have answers or solutions, however I do have an opinion on life.
Life is absolutely GREAT!!!!!!!
its the opportunity to experience everything(to go places, meet people see things)
Yes life is not fair, but the sun always shines on everyone!
I recon when your truely happy and content, then you have lived a complete life. What makes you happy and content?---YOU and your relationship with God!!!!
Your happiness comes from within, it is not based on the person you love, your work, your boss, your children, etc.... They do not create your happiness; you do!!!!
Only when are yourself 100% and you have peace about who you are, what you believe, where you come from....only then can the world and all its things contribute to your happiness.
And eventhough there are people in this world that will disagree with me:
1. Read the Bible; pray everyday, and
2. Be happy

Take care
Mari

thanks, mari.

i try to keep positive as much as i can, but this career is a restrictive one, and has the tendency to consume everything - life/love/ everything.

all i can do now, is wait it out.

Kung-fu!!!!!

Leave the dragons alone... The SPCA will be on the lookout for you....

Never give up, and keep studying. You will get what you really want, but you have to work hard, and believe in yourself...

Greetings.

I only know one style of Kung-Fu myself. It's called Junkie Style--it's similar to Drunken Style, but instead of drinking booze and falling all over the place, you walk around in a daze asking people for change. You have to look really glazed over and say things like "C'mon, dude, just a few bucks for, uh, food 'n' shit. Help me out, man!"

Then, you get in all close to your opponent, who is made uncomfortable by your crack-smoke breath and heroin drool, and sort of fall asleep on their shoulder while trying to get change out of their pocket.

By this point, your opponent will be frustrated and just want to get away from you. While he tries to escape, continue bugging him for a handout, pummeling him with dead limbs while you try to maintain consciousness.

After your opponent is severely worn down, you get in close one last time and stick him with a dirty (in this case, poisoned) syringe. There you have it: Junkie Style.

Obviously, this style is derived from various ninja techniques used to eliminate a target. You see, as a ninja, I got tired of Kung-Fu people claiming martial arts superiority, so I created a Kung-Fu style just to show ninjas are capable of executing stances. I doubt Junkie Style is on your PS2 game, but hopefully it will be in the future. Good luck with your training. Training is always more effective when done on a mountain top or under a waterfall, but you have to start somewhere, right? Keep kicking ass.

riiiite. junky style.. i think it is better suited to a ninja - as ninja's creep up on people.

in face to face combat, it probably wont work. an element of subterfuge is missing.

i was thinking of painting a mural on the wall of my room - strangely the images of mountaintop, waterfall or abandoned mayan city were the ones i considered.

i probably wont vandalize my room walls with paint. i dont have that kind of time.. or money.

see you around. I still have to post. Ifi I ever posted that, I'll do the quiet unvailing for you instead of red letters pointing toward your home, here. Unless you want me to. Maybe I'll post something else first. Let me know here.

Just posted again. I've got your's on file. It's damn good and makes statements all over the place, without mentioning yo by name. It really is just my interpretation of your spirit--if that makes sense.

Have a great weekend and great luck. Try to relax, if that is possible. I know that sometimes, things are way easier said than doen--especially when someone on the other side of the planet is the one who's talking, like I am right now!

Tale care and peace out, my gangsta
